What is net operational lease?

Net Operational Lease is a lease structure in which you use a vehicle for a fixed monthly payment, while remaining responsible for costs such as maintenance, repairs and insurance.

Unlike full Operational Lease, where almost all vehicle-related costs are included, with net Operational Lease you only pay for the use of the vehicle and the financing component. All other costs are arranged and paid for by you.

Characteristics of Net Operational Lease

  • Lower monthly payments compared to full operational lease

  • Maintenance, repairs and insurance are not included

  • The vehicle generally does not appear on the company’s balance sheet (off-balance)

  • At the end of the lease term, the vehicle is returned

  • In some cases, there is an option to purchase the vehicle at a predetermined or market-based price

This lease form is particularly interesting for entrepreneurs who want more control over their vehicle costs and, for example, already have favorable maintenance or insurance agreements in place.
