The rules are changing fast: from 1 January 2025, you will pay substantially more for a fuel-fuelled company car due to bpm, and access to zero-emission zones will be restricted in many cities. But you can be smart about this...
Mark Horsten, COO Vans at Mercedes-Benz Netherlands, explains: "From 2025, a fuel-fuelled commercial vehicle will become significantly more expensive due to the bpm. Moreover, with a new fuel car you will no longer have access to the zero-emission zones in dozens of cities."
If you register your new company car this year, you will save the bpm and be allowed to drive in the zero-emission zones until 2028 with an emission class 6 vehicle. However, bear in mind limited production slots and longer delivery times. So order on time to avoid disappointment. This also applies to the busy RDW type approvals.
No bpm and always access to zero-emission zones. Most electric commercial vehicles today have a considerable range, often over 400km per charge! They also have fast-charging capabilities, which means you're quickly back on the road after a pee break and a coffee at the petrol station.
For example: the new Mercedes-Benz eSprinter. It is available with various battery options and action radii of up to 443 km. Prices start at around €63,000 (without bpm and VAT), with a possible €5,000 SEBA subsidy. After 1 January 2025, you will quickly be €6,000 more expensive for a comparable diesel version due to bpm.
