Chinese electric models are rapidly conquering the Dutch automotive market

In the Netherlands, more and more electric cars are being sold and their popularity is only increasing. Besides well-known brands, more and more new electric car brands from Asia are entering the Dutch market. Most of these new brands come from China, where the development of electric cars is in full swing. We see more and more entrepreneurs ordering an electric car from China through Lease.car. In this blog, we will discuss some of these new Chinese electric car brands and their models.

BYD: is a Chinese company that has been producing electric vehicles since 2003 and is now one of the largest producers of electric vehicles in the world. In the Netherlands, BYD currently offers several models, including the BYD Tang. This is a spacious SUV with an output of 245 hp and a range of 405 kilometres (WLTP). The Byd Atto 3 is also an electric model from Byd and is now available to order via Lease.car.

Aiways: is a relatively new Chinese car brand focusing entirely on electric cars. Founded in 2017, the company launched its first electric model in 2020: the Aiways U5. This SUV has a range of 400 kilometres (WLTP) and features a 150 kW electric motor. In the Netherlands, the Aiways U5 is available in two versions: the Standard and the Premium. Meanwhile, the Aiways U6 has also been added to the range.

Nio: is a luxury car brand from China focusing on mainly luxury electric vehicles. Founded in 2014, the company launched its first electric model in 2018: the Nio ES8. This is a seven-seater SUV with a range of 580 kilometres (NEDC). In the Netherlands, NIO has now released several models, and many more are expected to be launched in the coming years.

MG: is originally a British car brand, but is now owned by Chinese carmaker SAIC Motor. The brand focuses mainly on electric vehicles and currently offers several models in the Netherlands: including the MG ZS EV and the MG Marvel R Electric. The MG ZS EV is a compact SUV with a range of 263 kilometres (WLTP) and the MG Marvel R Electric is a spacious SUV with a range of 402 kilometres (WLTP). Recently, the MG 4 & 5 have also been added.

Xpeng: is a Chinese car brand that focuses on electric vehicles and was founded in 2015. The company has now launched two models in the Netherlands: the Xpeng G9 and the Xpeng P7. The Xpeng G9 is an SUV with a range of over 600 kilometres (NEDC) and the Xpeng P7 is a luxury sedan with a range of 562 kilometres (NEDC).

Hongqi: is a Chinese car brand owned by state-owned FAW Group. Founded in 1958, the brand is known for its luxury sedans. In 2018, Hongqi launched its first all-electric model, the E-HS3. In the Netherlands, Hongqi launched a luxury SUV: the E-HS9. With its elegant design, advanced technology and excellent performance, the E-HS9 is an attractive option for both personal and business use.
