The government is proposing to allow electric vehicle (EV) owners to benefit from road tax rebates for longer. This is very good news for our customers! And, of course, still for the environment😉
The tax rebate will be phased out over the next few years and will not disappear until 2031. The introduction of road tax for EVs is inevitable. The government treasury is losing a lot of money due to the massive increase of EVs on Dutch roads.
In 2025, electric drivers will not yet have to pay road tax. In 2026, this becomes a 60% rate compared to petrol cars. This then becomes 65% in 2029 and in 2031 the rebate disappears completely. This is a whopping five years later than planned. High time, then, to make the switch.
In addition to this extension of the tax benefit on road tax, there are of course still plenty of other (business) advantages to switching to electric driving, such as:
Increasingly better range (also for EV company cars)
Less maintenance
No BPM for company cars
Lower additional tax rate
Increasingly more charging options at home and abroad
Generating your own energy with solar panels
Despite these benefits, many zero-emission zones will be established in the Netherlands from 2025. EV company cars are therefore not only financially attractive, but simply necessary to be able and allowed to go everywhere.
