The car has a plug-in hybrid powertrain consisting of a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, two electric motors and a battery pack with a capacity of 34 kWh. System output is 609 hp and torque is a whopping 1,000 Nm. The Polestar 1 has an electric range of around 125 kilometres, which is quite high for a plug-in hybrid car.
The Polestar 1 has a carbon fibre body and an advanced suspension system. The car is equipped with a number of advanced technologies, including a regenerative braking system and an electrically driven rear axle. In addition, the Polestar 1 features a comprehensive infotainment system with a large touchscreen and voice recognition.
It is Polestar's first foray into the world of electric cars and the company has already announced that more models will follow.
